Assia Ouchchen is the founder of Plastic Science by Design, an independent partner for plastic converters when it comes to material science for innovation. The company has been founded on july 11th as a private company but changed status to a private company with limited liability on November 8th after a successful launch supporting multinationals with material science insight to win bigger, grow faster and become profitable on material level.
As a global ideator and innovator combined with the right doses of persuasive communication skills along with a proven track record of innovation, ideation and the knowledge to drive the required change, are the building blocks of Assia to pursue her passion for science.
Previously, Assia was the R&D Manager of RPC Cobelplast NV, where she managed with a progressive vision and a proactive approach to create and launch an innovation platform with the aim to develop the packaging of the future based on a blue ocean strategy. In a short period of time, Assia succeeded to transform the company’s business by creating a more competitive, innovation -driven organization.
Earlier, Assia has spent 2 years serving Newell Rubbermaid as a Project Manager for the consumable business of Dymo. Prior to Dymo, Assia made her first step into the industry as an R&D engineer for Tekni-plex Europe, developing blister packaging for the Pharmaceutical market and liners for the cosmetics.
Assia got her polymer knowledge from the doctoral research, where she investigated the incorporation of micro-organisms as a biological oxygen scavenger in polymer matrices after graduating as a Bio-engineer at Ghent university in 2007.
